The total number of children with any problems of the ear (including asymptomatic cerumen impaction in the canal) were 35%. This includes all children with ear problems including impacted wax that could not be easily removed. However, when we consider only those children who had an accompanying complaint such as pain or decreased hearing along with impacted wax, the percentage is 17.4%.

Follow up of these children was undertaken by members of the Rotary Club, in collaboration with the school teachers and principal. They were instrumental in motivating the parents of the children to take the children for further management in the recommended centres.
